History of the School and Accreditation Status

The Vocational Nursing Institute, Inc. was founded in 2009 by Kimberley A. Kelly RN, BSN, MSN, LNC. It is Ms. Kelly’s vision to open a Vocational School to help others in the community to become a Nursing Assistant. The founder decided to transition the school in 2009 to a non-profit status, which will enhance the opportunities for the students via grants and donations to the school and benefits the students versus a for profit entity. The school then added the Vocational Nursing program in 2011 as approved by the Texas State Board of Nursing and will add the Medical Administrative Assistant in the spring of 2015 and an RN bridge program is on the horizon for 2016. Currently there are 8 board members for the 501 C 3 non-profit school.

The school has achieved its full accreditation status for Accreditation through the Council of Occupational Education (COE) through 2020.
